Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, however, held the Election Commission and Supreme Court responsible for the chaos which forced one of the biggest political parties in the country to stay out of the presidential election.
“Institutions concerned should work towards making elections free, fair and transparent at all levels. Both the Supreme Court and ECP are responsible for recent elections’ controversy,” said Imran Khan. He said these two institutions should be blamed for the rigging that took place during the May 11 general elections.

2- Official clarification: Pemra denies making ‘foreign funding’ allegations
Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Tuesday scotched reports that it had made allegations of foreign funding against any media outlet.
Pemra released the statement a day after the Supreme Court issued notices to its officials over allegations that they made about a media house airing foreign funded programmes.
On Monday a three-judge SC bench had sought the responses of the Pemra chairman Chaudhry Rashid Ahmed, its executive director Dr Abdul Jabbar, director general (licensing) Ashfaq Jumani, general manager (legal) Nasir Ahmed and secretary Suhail Ahmed.

3- Revenge: Woman ‘raped by son’s in-laws’
A woman on Tuesday claimed to have been raped by her son’s in-laws because her son had married their daughter without their consent.
She said that they had also abducted her five-year old granddaughter.
The woman, a resident of Mubarakpur, told media that her son had married the girl, a resident of Dera Izat, a month ago. This infuriated the girl’s family members Abdul Aziz, Sajid, Tariq and Majid who then abducted her granddaughter, the woman said.
A complaint was filed at the Cantonment police station.

4- Dispossession: Ahmedis banished from place of worship
Ahmedis in Fatehpur, Gujrat district, have been banished from their own place of worship in Ramazan and fear that they will be deprived of the property by the local government and clerics.
On July 11, the first day of Ramazan, a group of Sunnis beat up the Ahmedis and kicked them out of the place of worship, telling them not to return, according to members of the Ahmedi community.
The Ahmedis filed a complaint with the police for the registration of an FIR against the assailants. The police did not register a case, nor heeded their request for protection. Instead, they sealed the place of worship, which is located on a four-marla plot, “because of concerns of a clash,” Dolatnagar SHO Riaz Qadir told The Express Tribune. He said that previously, both Sunnis and Ahmedis had prayed there.

5- Budgetary lifeline: ADB considers $430m in support for BISP
After staff level understanding between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the gates for other avenues of multilateral financing have opened up for the country with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) reported to be in negotiations for a $430 million loan in budgetary support.
The move comes as prospects of restoring support from multilateral financing institutions, seems to be improving for economic managers of the country after a hiatus of three years.

The PML-N’s presidential candidate Mamnoon Hussain won the presidential election by a thumping majority on Tuesday.Mamnoon secured 432 votes against the PTI’s candidate Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed who polled 78 votes.

The 73-year-old businessman from Karachi has become the country’s 12th president. He will enter the President House on September 9 after President Zardari quits on September 8.The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), ANP and PML-Q boycotted the election and stayed away from the Parliament House.

7- Taliban free 243 prisoners in DI Khan jailbreak
In one of the two biggest jailbreaks in the history of Pakistan, the militants on Tuesday helped 243 prisoners escape from the British-era Dera Ismail Khan Central Prison after killing 12 people, including six policemen, while five attackers were also killed. Around 300 prisoners had escaped in a similar jailbreak in Bannu when scores of militants stormed the dungeon in April last year.

8- Four militants killed in Quetta shootout
Four suspected militants were killed while two cops were injured in an operation at the Eastern Bypass here in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Police said they had launched a massive operation in the Eastern Bypass area on a tip off. As police teams cordoned off the house where the miscreants were hiding, an exchange of fire took place between the police and militants which continued for several hours.

9- Rs15 bn Nandipur project cost further jumps to Rs 58.4 bn
The Rs15 billion Nandipur scam has taken a new turn as the cost of the project has further increased to Rs58.4 billion and a huge payment of $80 million has already been made to the Chinese company. Originally, the revised price was Rs57 billion.

This has been disclosed in the ECC meeting that was held with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair here on Wednesday evening. A short briefing was given in the meeting about the probe report of General (retd) Shahid, former Member Monitoring in the Planning Commission.

10- Kerry arrives on Wednesday night for talks
The US Secretary of State Senator John Kerry will arrive late on Wednesday night on a day’s visit to resume the dialogue with the Nawaz Sharif government in Islamabad with officials saying that there was a possibility of resuming the strategic dialogue. Several meetings were held in various ministries, institutions and the prime minister’s office to streamline an agreed agenda to be taken up with the US leader.

Hands on experience of maintenance and troubleshooting on Medium Voltage (upto 11kV) switchgear, alternators, motors and transformers.
Experience of troubleshooting PLC based control systems (preferably Siemens and GE Fanuc).
Hands on experience of configuration, testing and troubleshooting of Microprocessor based generator, motor and transformer protection relays (preferably MiCOM relays).
Hands-on experience of using computerized maintenance module (preferably SAP) for updating maintenance history of Electrical equipment and inventory utilization.
Ability to identify critical spares for Electrical equipment and ensure minimum stock level in the inventory.
Knowledge of HSE Management System such as permit to work, job safety analysis and risk assessment.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with peers, subordinates and superiors.

Qualifications: Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in Electrical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas / Fertilizer / Petrochemical industry.

Mechanical Technician (2 positions)

The Job
Hands on experience of maintenance and troubleshooting of rotary equipments such as Centrifugal / Reciprocating / Screw Compressors, Gas turbines, centrifugal / positive displacement Pumps, Fin Fans, Gas engines etc.
Hands-on experience of using computerized maintenance module (preferably SAP) for updating maintenance history of Mechanical equipment and inventory utilization.
Ability to identify critical spares for Rotary machines and ensure minimum stock level in the inventory.
- Ability to prepare concise and meaningful maintenance reports of the rotary equipment.
Assist Assistant Mechanical Engineer in improving availability and reliability of rotary equipment through effective and quality rotary equipment maintenance.
Assist to Co-ordinate and execute planned rotary equipment maintenance tasks during shutdowns.
Knowledge of HSE Management System such as permit to work, job safety analysis and risk assessment.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with peers, subordinates and Superiors.

Qualification: Bachelor's of Technology (B-Tech) or Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 08 years proven hands-on experience of maintaining rotary equipments in Oil & Gas / Fertilizer / Petrochemical industry. Experience in Gas Turbine and Compressor Maintenance is essential.
